The boys at a glance
Dec. 15th, 2020 07:53 pm❱❱ TOM JACKMAN
DOB 1967.
EYES Hazel.
HAIR Brown.
HAND Right.
A devoted father and husband, Dr. Jackman is kind, patient and dependable. He's generally conflict avoidant (bordering on pacifism), but he's willing to go to great lengths to protect his family. Including letting Billy loose to do what he can't.
His greatest advantage over Hyde is his sheer tenacity and willpower. He held back Hyde's emergence for years... one of his first priorities was to impose a strict set of rules and consequences to keep Hyde in check. Along with a means to communicate and monitor his activities. Even though it meant leaving his family to keep Hyde from finding them.
Tom is terrified of what Hyde is capable of without limits. So he uses every scrap of knowledge and whatever resources he can to keep one step ahead. Wisdom and maturity have their advantages.
❱❱ BILLY HYDE
DOB 2007.
EYES Black.
HAIR Black.
HAND Left.
Often compared to a child, Hyde has all the drives of an adult, without the emotional maturity to go with it. While he's not naïve or stupid, he tends to see the world in fairly simplistic terms without much nuance. He's selfish and prone to outbursts of temper... which given his capacity for extreme violence makes him unpredictably dangerous.
Billy is a consummate hedonist, with an overactive sex drive and a willingness to engage in any vice at least once. He revels in violence and proportionate retaliation isn't a concept he grasps very well. His excesses are only tempered by Jackman's imposed limits and he resents him for it.
For all of that, if he's treated with respect he's absolutely capable of self-restraint. He's not a mindless monster, just a psychopath.
